(SACRAMENTO) Chair of the UC Davis Health Department of Neurology, Amy Brooks-Kayal has been selected as the 2023 recipient of the Child Neurology Society Bernard Sachs Award. The prestigious award is given annually to honor a scholar of international status who has done leading research in neuroscience related to the care of children with neurological disorders.

(SACRAMENTO) UC Davis Health neuroscientist and neuroengineer Sergey Stavisky has received two prestigious awards totaling $3.5 million. The grants will fund research that seeks to restore the speech of stroke survivors and people with ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

(SACRAMENTO) UC Davis Health neuroscientist Sergey Stavisky has been selected by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to receive the 2022 NIH Director’s New Innovator Award.

The University of California, Davis, announced the recipients of the 2022 Chancellor’s Innovation Awards at an in-person event on June 16. The awards recognize faculty, community partners and industry leaders developing innovative solutions to improve the lives of others and address important needs in our global society.  

(SACRAMENTO) Christina Kim, assistant professor in the UC Davis Department of Neurology and faculty member of the Center for Neuroscience, has been selected as a 2022 Searle Scholar in recognition of her research on the molecular code that determines synaptic wiring and functional activity in neural circuits that regulate motivation.

(SACRAMENTO) Developmental psychologist Sally J. Rogers, who co-developed a leading form of behavioral therapy for autism, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the International Society for Autism Research (INSAR). She accepted the award this week at the annual meeting in Austin, Texas.

The two grants will support innovative projects that have the potential to make major breakthroughs in their respective fields. One will study where chemical reactions occur in deep regions of the brain to improve the treatments for brain disorders.
